RockBox fits perfectly into any living room. Beneath the understated and elegant design, hides open-source hardware that the RockBox shares with the ROCK64 single board computer. Featuring a full I/O set – which includes USB 3.0 and both WiFi and an Ethernet port – as well as an IR remote and an optical port, the RockBox is a highly versatile gaming and media center.
The console ships with R-Cade – our Linux-based, in-house, retro-gaming and media-center OS, but is able to run a number of other entertainment-centered systems, such as LibreELEC, LAKKA, and Recalbox. For those of you who seek a compact FOSS media-center, its worth mentioning that the RockBox is capable of local playback of 4K HDR content using KODI Leia, included in the R-Cade default operating system.
Both Roshambo and Roshambo+ play your retro games while looking the part too. The case and accessories are all made out of high quality plastic, which been color matched with the source material. All buttons and switches are fully functional, including the eject button which releases the SSD cartridge*.
The consoles are powered by PINE64’s ROCK64 and ROCKPro64 single board computers, and come preinstalled with R-Cade – our Linux-based, in-house, retro-gaming and media-center OS. If you already have a favorite retro-gaming OS, you’ll be please to know that dual-booting LAKKA, Batocera, LibreELEC, RetroArena, and many more, is a breeze. If you intend to use the Roshambo or Roshambo+ as a media center, then you’ll be pleased to know both devices support 4K HDR content playback using KODI, included in the R-Cade default operating system.
